Fundraising

Our main fundraisers include an annual raffle, Festival International, and the Grant Street fundraiser. Additional funds have been donated by CAFA, the Confederation of Acadian Families Association.

Our Fall Raffle is held around Thanksgiving, with the drawing held at the December meeting. Our raffle has three cash prizes each year, plus other prizes that change every year. This is our main fundraiser, so we encourage everyone's participation. The December meeting is a party, with everyone encouraged to bring a dish to share. Several classes of French Immersion students perform holiday music.

The Grant Street fundraiser works like this: Grant Street allows Les Amis to keep all proceeds from the admission charge one weekend evening during the spring. Les Amis members simply collect the cover charge from everyone who comes to hear the band that night.

Les Amis provides volunteers and children's craft and play activities at La Place des Enfants at Festival International each year as a fundraiser. It's a fun way to spend some time, listening to the music on stage, and helping the kids have fun making things. Volunteers are usually scheduled for approximately two-hour blocks of time.
